Stephanie Cropp (she/her)
Honours Student
Kia ora. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Anthropology in the late 1990’s at Massey University and then worked as an independent consultant specialising in questionnaire and survey evaluation, design and development for a number of decades. I returned to postgraduate study in 2024 to further my understanding of psychology, with special interests in neurodiverse and rainbow folks.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Pride Lab for my honours project. My research will focus on investigating affiliate stigma experienced by parents and close whānau of rainbow and takatāpui children and its impact on mental health and wellbeing. It will utilise data collected in the Raising Rainbows project and I hope to discover how we might better support whānau and parent’s mental health so that they may in turn better support their rainbow children and rangatahi.
What brings me joy?
Bike rides around Pōneke with my family, good coffee and kōrero with friends and spending time with whānau in the rural Bay of Plenty where I grew up.
