Kelly Redman (she/her)
Doctoral Student
Kia ora. I completed my master’s degree in psychology and the University of Waikato in 2019 where I explored the experiences of women engaged in Family Violence Restorative Justice and how they are (or are not) kept safe throughout this process. I went on the complete the Community Psychology programme in which I developed a service for students who had been impacted by family and sexual violence, as well as developing workshops, programmes and policy that prevent and respond to sexual harm within the university context. I registered as a Psychologist (Community) in 2022.
I am now in my first year of the Doctor of Clinical Psychology programme. My thesis is looking to explore pathways to harmful sexual behaviour among young New Zealand women through a trauma-informed framework.
What brings me joy?
I enjoy spending time with my family and with my dogs. I also love resistance training, amateur bodybuilding and being in nature.
